Glasal

Glasal is a fully compressed, autoclaved, rigid fibre cement sheet. Lightweight yet strong, Glasal panels are available in a range of mineral enamel colours. Glasal panels can be fixed successfully with colour matched screws, rivets and structural adhesives. Performs well on fire resistance and spread of flame, and is ideally suited to aggressive environments. It possesses a hard UV and scratch-resistant finish which is also durable to chemicals and scratches. It is stain and graffiti resistant as well as acid, bacteria, weather and atmospheric pollutant proof. Colour stability is manufacturer guaranteed for 15 years.

Manufacture

Glasal is made from a pre-carbonated, modified formulation. The unique treatment of the base sheet involves sanding, polishing, and both the chemical and physical fusing of the mineral enamel colour through heat curing and a 'fixing' bath process. This is known as the 'Emaille' process.
